When I used to use Napster -- and I admit I did use Napster -- I mostly downloaded older music that wasn't available in the record stores any longer. I did download some new music, Moby for instance and based on that download I went out and bought the CD. Maybe I'm not the typical ptp user, but based on this article I think that perhaps I was.
